Tow Truck Trouble 60137

60137

OK so I wasn’t going to bother with the Tesco 3 for 2. But then they sent me a £6 off £40 spend voucher. I needed a birthday toy gift for a relative and so of course I came home with 2 Lego sets for myself.

Tow truck trouble had been on my Amazon wish list for a while. I didn’t have any motorbikes in my collection and this came with 2. It also has a bank vault which again will come in nicely to add to my brick bank. I’m thinking it may end up on the winch being lowered out by one of the bank robbers.

The tow truck itself is a simple build but quite nice. I enjoyed making this set even though it’s not particular taxing. Unfortunately it uses stickers for the police bike decals and the tow truck sign as well as the safe and bank sign. I really hate stickers in Lego and it confuses me when one mtotobike requires a sticker for the police crest whereas the second has it printed on.

You get 2 police and 1 robber minifigure in this set and a nice gold crowbar which I’ve not seen before. Only normally in red.

I think this would be a nice addition to anyone’s Lego city.

Unfortunately the Tesco offer finishes tonight and it looks like the Lego online stor has finished its Easter offfer of free shipping (which is mean as Easter hasn’t even happened yet). In fact it looks like all reference to Easter has gone from the main page now. There’s still triple VIP points, 10% off retiring sets and up to 30% off some others but we’re back to needing to spend £50 to get free shipping.

Police Starter Set 60136

I picked this set up last week in order to get the free police polybag as it was the cheapest item I could see in the city range at £8.49.

Its a fun little set with 4 minifigures as well as a dog who sits nicely in the back of the police vehicle.

The cash machine (which I really wanted to add to my brick bank) can be “blown up” with the dynamite (and some help by the lever at the rear) which allows the cash box to be removed and make a quick getaway.

Police Car 30352

IMG_0585This polybag set was free with Lego City purchases in store and online over £15.  It’s a fun little car and comes with a City policeman wearing a baseball cap. He has some nice printing and has the new radio print on the rear. The police tile on the front of the car is printed and not a sticker which is great. I hate stickers! It also includes handcuffs and a couple of road cones.  There aren’t any number plates for the car. Or a roof. Or doors. But hey it was free 🙂

Tesco 3 for 2

Tesco are doing 3 for 2 on a selection of toys which also includes most of their Lego sets. My local store seems to have cut down on its toy selection the last few months so you might be better off using Tesco direct where the same offer applies.  Offers ends 10th April so you need to be quick!

Triple VIP points

IMG_0575From 7th -23rd April VIP members can get triple points at Lego stores and online.

Lego are also offering 10% off retiring sets and 33% off selected sets. With free shipping on orders over £15 and a free mini BW Beetle on orders over £35 this is a great time to buy.

If you aren’t a VIP you can join up at the same time as placing your order.
